SendUsPacking.com Helps Honeymoon Couples Go Further

Cotswold-based company announces the release of SendUsPacking.com, the user-friendly online honeymoon gift list.

With over 6 million people in the UK visiting travel websites last year the travel market has proven to be one of the web's biggest growth areas.

SendUsPacking.com has launched a new product that helps travellers pay for their trip by asking friends and family to contribute towards the cost.

With more couples getting married later in life there is a less pressing need to organise traditional wedding gift lists. Most couples already have all the household items that they need so, as an alternative to toasters and extra sheets many are taking the opportunity to ask wedding guests to contribute towards the cost of the honeymoon. SendUsPacking offers an online service to help manage this process by allowing couples to organise their itinerary and then take online payments towards the total honeymoon bill.

In addition, SendUsPacking.com can help independent travellers who are planning to take a sabbatical. Using the same approach as for honeymooners, SendUsPacking allows travellers to create their itinerary and then ask friends and family to help pay for certain items on the list as part of a birthday or Christmas present.

In addition to offering this user-friendly service direct to travellers, SendUsPacking.com also offers the system to travel operators and agents who wish to sell this service to their clients. This approach (often called White Labelling) means that operators can re-brand the entire service as their own, removing the SendUsPacking.com look and feel entirely.

Colin Towns, the co-founder of SendUsPacking.com says: "Two years ago my wife and I came up with the idea when we were scouring the internet looking for someone to help us organise our honeymoon. Nobody was able to assist us, so we developed the site believing that there was a gap in the travel market for this product …we also made it user friendly because we knew it would be people like our parents who would be using it!"

SendUsPacking (Send Us Packing Limited) is an internet travel company formed in October 2005 by Nichola Ealson (Director) and Colin Towns (Director). It is based in Poulton in the Cotswolds and was devised by Nichola and Colin during their honeymoon on the Angsana resort in the Maldives.

The website has taken 18 months to design and build and was officially launched in July 2007. It caters for independent travellers, honeymooners, gap year students and mature sabbatical travellers.
