Real Life Honeymoon Feature - Italy

Michelle & Adam got married on the 15th August at Friday Island, Gloucestershire and then chose Italy for their romantic honeymoon

WHERE?

We spent our Honeymoon in Rome

WHEN?
We went for 10 nights from 18th August - 28th August 2009

WHY?
It's somewhere we both REALLY wanted to go for a long time and with it being such a romantic city, we thought it was a perfect honeymoon destination. I don't like flying so the short flight was perfect for me and we didn't want to go anywhere near the coast as we always seem to have 'beachy' holidays and wanted something different plus Adam loves to scuba dive so had we gone to a beach resort Adam would have spent the entire honeymoon under the sea and i'd have spent it alone so Rome was perfect for us!

WHAT DID YOU DO?
We wanted to see everything!! so we divided up our time there into sight seeing days and relaxing days, we wanted to relax after the stress and hard work of planning the wedding, so we made sure we spent lots of time relaxing as well as sight seeing. We also wanted to visit all the places in the movie 'Angels and Demons' as it's one of our favourite movies and we had watched it before we went.
We visited the Collusium, Palatine Hill & the Roman Forum, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Bourghese, Castel St'Angelo, Vatican City, St Peters Basilica, The Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museums, The Pantheon, The Trevi Fountain and we also took a day trip to see Naples, Mt Vesuvious and Pompei.
We did a couple of these sites every other day then had a realxing day at the gorgeous hotel's pool in between. The hotel we chose was just amazing, set on a hill overlooking the city, the views at night from our balcony were breath taking! you couldn't wish for a more romantic setting! It was perfect!

MOST ROMANTIC MOMENT?
For me the most romantic moments were eating dinner on our balcony, which we did on a few evenings, eating dinner looking over the city all lit up at night, is something Adam and I wont forget.
Also we found just wandering around the city centre in the evenings was very romantic, it's so relaxed and there is so much history everywhere, it's an amazing atmosphere everywhere you go.

IT’S GREAT FOR HONEYMOONERS BECAUSE…
It's by far the most romantic place we have ever been, the city is beautiful and atmosphere in the city is so relaxed. There's also something for everyone, gorgeous scenery, plenty to do and see.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SENDUSPACKING?
